From briefing to response: A morning with Clough Road's Patrol Team

A shift on the frontline in Hull 

At 6.30am, Clough Road’s patrol team began their shift covering central and west Hull. PC Paul Lundgren and Student Officer PC Justine Wood were out responding to incidents, supporting vulnerable people, and staying visible in the community.

PC Justine Wood has just completed her 12-week tutorship, a key phase where student officers transition from training to active duty. She’s investigating, safeguarding, and making decisions under pressure, all while building confidence in the role.

From domestic abuse follow-ups to emergency welfare checks, the morning was fast-paced and demanding. One call involved helping a man with head injuries, coordinating emergency services, and launching an investigation all before midday.
